3 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting A Business Part I

December 03 2022

What are three things I wish I knew before I started my own business?

Well, number one, it’s never too early to start. I was lucky I had a mother and a father that really supported me and told me, “go out there, do whatever you want, if you fail, try again, if you don’t fail, you’re ahead of the curve”.

So I personally started my own business at the age of 21. Actually, a little bit before 21, and I was able to learn so many things along the way.

Number two, the very important part of that is to be careful when it comes to your finances. Starting a business very early means I wasn’t as knowledgeable about budgeting. I wasn’t as knowledgeable about credits and how to build wealth and how to build an enterprise without sucking me dry. So while you want things to look beautiful, you want things to be amazing, you want to have a great time, if you’re going to be an entrepreneur, you’re going to have to think about how this will impact you long-term, how every dollar you spend is actually a dollar that can take away from something your business may need, and take away from an opportunity that you may need to invest in.

Check the next post for the third tip!
