More Than an Introduction

July 16 2026

One of the things I enjoy most about hosting SOUP Network events is seeing how quickly people find something to talk about beyond the usual introduction.

At our recent SOUP NYC Next Level Networking event at the Virtuoso Realty Group office in East Harlem, the gathering was more intimate than some of our previous events. It gave us the chance to sit together, take our time, and hear more about what each person was working on.

The conversation moved naturally around the room. People shared what brought them there, where they were in their businesses, and what they were hoping to build next. One question led to another, and everyone had the opportunity to participate.

I especially appreciated being able to listen and hear more about what each person was building. That made the evening feel personal.

I started SOUP Network in 2008 because connecting people has always been something I enjoy. I like learning what someone does, what they may need, and who might be helpful to them.

Sometimes the connection is immediate. Other times, someone comes to mind weeks or months later. There is no formula for it.

The best conversations usually happen when people feel comfortable enough to talk honestly about what they are building and curious enough to listen to someone else. That was the feeling in the room that evening.

Our July gathering may have been more intimate than usual, but it still reflected what I have always wanted SOUP Network to be. A place where entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals can meet, have a real conversation, and leave knowing a little more about the people around them.

We will be bringing everyone together again for Next Level Networking on September 24 at the VRG office in East Harlem.

I am looking forward to seeing the room come together and hearing what everyone is working on next.

P.S. You can view photos from our past events here.

xoxo,

Cyn
