For me, the best opportunities usually start with a conversation. Not a sales pitch. Not a room full of people shouting over music. Just a genuine conversation between people who are building something.
That’s why I started the Society of Urban Professionals or SOUP.
Years ago, my friend Steve Morrison and I wanted to create the kind of networking experience we couldn’t seem to find ourselves. We wanted a place where entrepreneurs, professionals, business owners, and community leaders could actually get to know one another, exchange ideas, and build relationships that continued long after the event ended. That idea is still at the heart of everything we do.
Every SOUP event is designed with one goal in mind: helping people make meaningful connections. Some evenings are focused on networking. Others are centered around learning.
Through our Art of Networking series, we’ve invited experts to share practical insights on topics that help people grow professionally. We’ve explored everything from body language and communication to content creation and personal branding. The goal is always the same. Leave with something you can actually use.
Our Next Level Networking events take a different approach, giving people a structured way to meet other professionals without the pressure that often comes with traditional networking.
No matter which event you attend, the experience is intentionally personal.
We host our events at our East Harlem office because we want people to feel comfortable. We want conversations to happen naturally. We want you to leave knowing a few people a little better than when you arrived.
I’ve always believed that community is one of the best investments you can make in your business.
You never know whether the person you meet today will become your next client, collaborator, mentor, referral partner, or friend.
If you’re looking for a community that’s built around genuine relationships, I’d love to welcome you to SOUP.
Bring your business cards if you’d like. Bring your questions. Most importantly, just bring yourself.
Join our Next Level Networking event on September 24 in East Harlem! Complimentary access, RSVP here.
xoxo,
